Project Overview

Sundt is expanding Gilbert’s North Water Treatment Plant, which treats available surface water supplied by the Salt and Verde rivers as well as groundwater.  The plant provides drinking water to over 150,000 of Gilbert’s residents 2024 European Cup Score Betting Platformand is the primary water source for the Downtown Heritage District, Northwest Redevelopment District, Gateway Employment Corridor, and Banner Gateway Medical Center Campus. This project hits close to home, as many members of the construction team are Gilbert residents. This is the biggest project the Town of Gilbert has taken on to date and provides an essential resource for a community where we live and work.

When completed, the plant will provide more than 70% of Gilbert’s available water supply, increase production from 45 million to 60 million gallons per day, and increase capacity by over 100,000 residents. The project is the largest single investment in clean water in Arizona history. The upgrades will meet or exceed national water standards, reduce utilization of non-renewable resources, and better adapt to water quality challenges.

One major enhancement to the facility includes the replacement of multiple, large drying beds with belt filter presses. This process offers many benefits, including capturing more water, making the facility more sustainable, and enabling a faster drying process for sludge and debris. This new equipment eliminates the need for drying beds, which take up a substantial amount of space.
